Got fish?

The Hotel Preston in Nashville, Tennessee believes in providing its guests with some of the same comforts of home. While I was bored in the hotel room waiting to go out for dinner, I thumbed through their in-room amenities binder. The opening page read “You Want It You Got It”. It's a program in which the hotel provides guests with some of the same comforts they might have at home. Some of the complimentary examples that caught my eye included a lava lamp, a pet fish companion (don't worry, housekeeping feeds them for you), milk and cookies, a rubber ducky, and many more. Just ask and you shall receive. Who could pass up such unusual amenities? Not this guy. ;-) I dialed 0 for the front desk and minutes later I had my pet fish and lava lamp.

The hotel also provides wi-fi @ $8.95 per day (it would be nicer if it were free), a 24 hour fitness center, 24 hour room service, 1pm checkout, and a pillow menu inclusive of five pillow options to accommodate your unique sleeping needs.

Overall, it's a unique alternative among most other Nashville Tennessee hotels.

Hotel Preston
733 Briley Parkway
Nashville, Tennessee 37217

615.361.5900 phone
877.361.5500 toll free
615.367.4468 fax
info@hotelpreston.com

www.hotelpreston.com

Microsoft Excel: Delete all hyperlinks on a sheet

Question: I've had a hyperlink problem in my Excel files for ages: false hyperlinks had crept in (even in empty cells) and were multiplying regularly whenever I inserted new lines. How can I delete all hyperlinks in a sheet at once and not have to delete them cell by cell?

Answer: You will need to create a macro to delete the hyperlink addresses in your Excel sheet.

Open your Excel spreadsheet that you wish to remove the hyperlinks from. Press <ALT>-F11 to go to the Visual Basic editor. Create a new module. You can do this by selecting Module under the Insert menu.

Paste the following code into your new module:

   Sub RemoveHyperlinks()

'Remove all hyperlinks from the active sheet
       ActiveSheet.Hyperlinks.Delete

   End Sub

Close the Visual Basic editor window by selecting "Close and Return to Microsoft Excel" under the File menu.

Now, go to the sheet that contains the hyperlinks that you wish to delete. Here is an example of a sheet with multiple hyperlink addresses:

Under the Tools menu, select Macro > Macros. Highlight the macro called "RemoveHyperlinks" and click on the Run button.

Now your hyperlinks should be deleted as you can see by the example below:

If you need to remove hyperlinks from other sheets, just repeat the steps above.

Pink's Hot Dogs

When I went out to Los Angeles, Pink's was the place to be for good eats at a reasonable price. It's a cozy place where the walls are almost completely filled with celebrity photos who have visited the establishment. Pink’s is probably the only hot dog/burger joint with their very own parking attendant.

My friend and I went their twice in the wee hours of the morning around 2am. Can you believe there was a line of people at 2am?

My favorite thing on the menu was the Mulholland Drive Dog. It's a 10" Stretch Dog, grilled onions, grilled mushrooms, nacho cheese, and bacon on a bun. Delicious!
Pink's is in Hollywood, near the intersection of Melrose Avenue and North La Brea Boulevard, adjacent to the Northwest corner.

709 North La Brea Boulevard
Los Angeles, CA 90038

p: 323.931.4223
w: http://www.pinkshollywood.com
